Discover the world of needle felting as you create your own one-of-a-kind wool “painting”. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of painting with fiber by blending colors, building texture, and shaping images one poke at a time.
You'll create a 6” × 6” felted artwork while learning the basics of needle felting, including safe tool use, color mixing, layering, and how to build depth and dimension with wool. Along the way, we’ll understand the wool’s journey from sheep to workable fiber, and watch it transform into felt beneath your hands.

Luisa Mantelli is a textile artist, educator, and Drawing Room instructor whose practice explores the relationship between people and their environments through fiber. Growing up surrounded by textile traditions inspired a lifelong passion for making fiber arts approachable and accessible to everyone.
In her workshops, Luisa creates a welcoming environment where beginners feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and discovering their own creative voices. She encourages students to trust their intuition, embrace the unexpected, and experience the unique possibilities of working with wool.
