Private printmaking workshops in NYC for groups of 8 to 30. 2.5 hours, professional facilitators, and all materials included. Available at both Midtown and Williamsburg locations.

Experience the joys of printmaking!
Printmaking is the most direct kind of making: you carve, you ink, you press, and what you end up with is immediate and tactile. You can see your decisions. You can feel exactly where the tool went. The analog quality and the element of chance are what make it worthwhile.
In our block printing workshops, you'll learn to design and carve a relief block, roll ink, and pull a print. You'll make multiple prints, which means you get to try things more than once, and iteration is where all the excitement is!
People often describe printmaking as meditative. There's a rhythm to carving, then when you lift the block and see the print, there's a satisfaction that's immediate and joyful.
Beginner-friendly. No experience required. All materials including but not limited to inks, carving blocks, and tools are included for use during workshop. Take home the pieces you create.
1. Arrival and welcome
Your group arrives to name tags, fresh coffee, and our loose-leaf tea station. We greet everyone, get them settled, and your facilitator opens with a short framing of why making together does what it does for teams. Allow about 15 minutes for everyone to filter in.
2. Design + carve together
Everyone designs and carves their own block. We can chat about our designs, and we’ll get focused here! Your facilitator circulates to help anyone who's stuck or hesitating.
3. Print, share and gallery walk
We learn to ink and create our prints, and enjoy the charm of printmaking. We close with a gallery walk to see what everyone made. Your team leaves with their prints, their stamps, and a few photos worth sharing internally.

By the way…
We are a socks and indoor slipper space. This helps keep our space clean (we have lots of beautiful rugs) and makes it super cozy (kick your feet up)! We do have shoe covers available for anyone who prefers to keep their shoes on, or socks for $1 if you forget them!
Please note our workshops have a stricter age and pup restrictions than Open Hours. Participants must be 16+ to participate in workshops. No animals are permitted during workshops at this time.

Yes! Everything you need is fully supplied by Drawing Room. We set up the space before you arrive, and clean it all up for you after your session. You get to enjoy, and take your creation home!

No–we believe in making as thinking. Each participant creates something unique to themselves, not something predetermined. We are not following along, but rather creating from our own minds. But, don’t worry, our facilitators will guide you so you don’t get stuck!

No prior experience is required; all our workshops are beginner-friendly and our facilitators help you create something of your own.
We provide everything you need to create, you can just show up and prepare to try something new and have fun!
