Looking for a hands-on private event in NYC that isn't another paint-and-sip? Ceramics is calming, tactile, and surprisingly fun in a group. Everyone leaves having shaped something real with their hands.
A favorite for corporate offsites, birthdays, bachelorettes, and friend-group nights. Groups of 8 to 30 are available at both our Midtown or Williamsburg locations (or we'll bring the workshop to your office or venue!).
One of the best icebreakers we've found. Heads-down focus, then a table of finished pieces everyone wants to chat about. Beginner-friendly. All clay, tools, and firing included. Finished pieces are ready for pickup a few weeks after your workshop.
1. Arrival and welcome
Your group arrives to name tags, fresh coffee, and our loose-leaf tea station. We greet everyone, get settled, and your facilitator opens with short intros and a demo to kick things off. We talk through form, function, and a few basic hand-building techniques.
2. Design + build together
We sketch what we want to make: a mug, a bowl, a vessel, something weirder. Using pinch, coil, or slab construction, we shape clay into our design by hand. Clay is forgiving, you can rework it as you go.
3. Finish, share, and wait for firings!
Sign and log your piece, then we close with a gallery walk to see what everyone made. Then leave pieces with us to dry, fire, and glaze. Come back in a few weeks to pick it up!

By the way…
We are a socks and indoor slipper space. This helps keep our space clean (we have lots of beautiful rugs) and makes it super cozy (kick your feet up)! We do have shoe covers available for anyone who prefers to keep their shoes on, or socks for $1 if you forget them!
Please note our workshops have a stricter age and pup restrictions than Open Hours. Participants must be 16+ to participate in workshops. No animals are permitted during workshops at this time.

Yes! Everything you need is fully supplied by Drawing Room. We set up the space before you arrive, and clean it all up for you after your session. You get to enjoy, and take your creation home!

No–we believe in making as thinking. Each participant creates something unique to themselves, not something predetermined. We are not following along, but rather creating from our own minds. But, don’t worry, our facilitators will guide you so you don’t get stuck!

No prior experience is required; all our workshops are beginner-friendly and our facilitators help you create something of your own.
We provide everything you need to create, you can just show up and prepare to try something new and have fun!
