Week 1
[INCLUDED] Tue September 2 @ 7:00 PM -- ORIENTATION - Fall I (Midtown)
Meet and greet our instructors and the rest of your cohort, and choose your workshops, over snacks and tea. Paint your own ceramic nametags, then write and seal your intentions for the season. If you are not able to join us for orientation you can simply submit your enrollments virtually.
Sat September 6 @ 1:30 PM-4:00 PM -- Claydate: Organizers (Williamsburg)
Let's bring some order to your daily routine! In this workshop instructed by Ivy, you'll create custom ceramic organizers for all your needs, from jewelry to desk supplies and makeup. You'll have a beautiful functional piece to help keep your space neat and tidy.
Sun September 7 @ 3:00 PM-5:30 PM -- Bookbinding: Accordion (Williamsburg)
Are you ready to embark on a new chapter and embrace the unique moments in your life? In this Bookmaking workshop instructed by Ray, we’ll cover the possibilities an accordion book can offer that a traditional book format can’t as we launch into our guided measuring, folding, gluing, and brainstorming to create a handmade book.
Mon September 8 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Shaped by Light: The Sound of Day (Williamsburg)
A fundamental figure drawing workshop instructed by Adriana. Learn the basics of figure drawing using charcoal and pastels. We’ll work in collaboration with our figure model, to explore what the morning, day, and night sound and look like.
Week 2
Sat September 13 @ 10:00 AM-12:30 PM -- Field Trip: Farmer’s Market (Offsite)
Practice the art of noticing through a morning of visual journaling. On this Field Trip instructed by Meiying, we will observe, sketch, and write as we explore the colors and rhythms of Union Square’s bustling Farmer’s Market, taking moments to slow down and draw inspiration from the sights, sounds, and scents of Fall.
Sat September 13 @ 1:30 PM-4:00 PM -- Claydate: Tableware (Nesting Bowls and Beyond) (Williamsburg)
Come make some beautiful tableware to make your meals a little more special. Instructed by Aubrey. Plates, bowls, cups, spoon rests, candle holders, the list goes on. You will learn all the techniques to make all your tablescape dreams come true!
Sun September 14 @ 3:00 PM-5:30 PM -- Drawing as Seeing: Fruit Salad (Williamsburg)
In this observational drawing workshop instructed by Ray, we’ll cover principles such as line, contour, and positive/ negative space using color pastels to draw fruits. Afterwards we’ll enjoy the fruits of our labor (haha) as we turn our still life into a delicious snack to share!
[INCLUDED] Tue September 16 @ 7:00 PM-9:30 PM -- Journeys Group Project: Game Night [AT MIDTOWN OPEN TO ALL JOURNEY MEMBERS] (Midtown)
Led by Ray. Together we’ll design a custom board game built from puzzle pieces. Each participant will illustrate tiles to form our collective world of fantasy and fiction, filled with playful prompts and challenges (You got lost in the forest! Share your favorite pizza spot to find your way!). Once complete, we’ll play our creation—special die included. Please bring a small totem to use as your game piece!
Week 3
Fri September 19 @ 7:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Uncorked Narratives: Cycles (Williamsburg)
A sensory writing workshop instructed by Rachel. Taste, savor, and write vivid stories to explore the many cycles of life. Through playful prompts and engaging conversation, each sip and bite becomes inspiration, deepening your connection to the seasons, repetition, and renewal.
Sat September 20 @ 1:30 PM-4:00 PM -- Worlds in Print (Williamsburg)
A collaborative block printing workshop instructed by Angie. Collaborate with fellow group members to imagine and print a shared world. Learn to block print, utilize creative prompts, and collectively storytell. We frame our pieces at the end!
Sun September 21 @ 3:00 PM-5:30 PM -- Claydate: Marbling [AT WILLIAMSBURG OPEN TO BOTH COHORTS] (Williamsburg)
Enter a whole new world of ceramics here at Drawing Room - marbling! Instructed by Ivy, learn to use TWO different colored clay bodies we will be learning the best ways to mix, swirl and layer the clays to create entirely unique and one of a kind marbled patterns on your ceramic pieces!
Mon September 22 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Conversations in Paint: Full Circle (Williamsburg)
Blast from the past! This conversational watercolor workshop instructed by Ray will introduce a variety of techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, flat wash, and gradients which we’ll use to paint our objects that conjure a memory, an emotion, or feels like it plays a part in our lives today.
Week 4
Sat September 27 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Fuzz to Felt: Melodies (Williamsburg)
Music inspires the mind, taking us to memories and new places alike. In this needle-felting workshop instructed by Adriana, we’ll be taking inspiration from a song, lyric, or melody to create a new piece of (fuzzy) art with colorful wool.
Sun September 28 @ 3:00 PM-5:30 PM -- Plein Air Watercolor: Turtle Pond (Offsite)
Instructed by Ray. We’ll discover the unique differences between painting in the comfort of a studio and painting outside, “en plein air”. Get introduced to a variety of watercolor techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, flat wash, and gradients and how to use them outdoors. Includes tickets to the zoo!
Tue September 30 @ 7:00 PM-9:30 PM -- Drawing from the Body: See the Music (Williamsburg)
An intuitive, abstracted, and multimedia figure drawing class instructed by Meiying. How can sound, the body, and drawing all connect? Learn the basics of figure drawing through a visual exploration of dance and gesture. Working from observation of a live professional dancer, we will capture energy and rhythm in playful quick sketches and multimedia experiments!
Week 5

In this freeform ceramics workshop instructed by Aubrey, you will learn bits of each basic technique- pinch pots, coil, and slab building to make anything your heart can dream up. Come prepared with an idea and we will make it a reality!

A weaving workshop instructed by Adriana. Birthdays! Anniversaries! Gotcha Days! We honor our cycles with all kinds of rituals like parties and cards. In this workshop we’ll be honoring a cycle using color, texture, and fabrics.
[INCLUDED] Tue October 7 @ 7:00 PM-9:30 PM -- Journeys Group Project: Ceramics [AT WILLIAMSBURG OPEN TO ALL JOURNEY MEMBERS] (Williamsburg)
We’ll work together to build a ceramic world together…which will eventually be installed in a hanging mobile sculpture format! Led by Aubrey and Ayaka, who is teaching our Ceramics Intensive, “Clay in Practice,” this season. This group project will require collaboration and planning together…then it will be revealed at Showcase Night!
Thu October 9 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Claydate: Clocks (Williamsburg)
Tick tock tick tock tick tock It’s time to make your very own clock! In this fun and functional workshop instructed by Ivy, you’ll design and make your very own ceramic clock face! Whether you’re into minimal modern or bold and wacky - you’ll come away with a full functional unique ready to go clock!

Sun October 12 @ 12:30 PM-3:00 PM -- Color in Flow: Painting Rhythms (Williamsburg)
An interactive, multi-media watercolor class instructed by Meiying. How can a brushstroke express rhythm and tempo? How can color and texture be inspired by music? In this version of Color in Flow we will learn the basics of watercolor technique as well as explore water soluble drawing materials to create a series of experimental paintings inspired by music and sound.
Tue October 14 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Claydate: Suncatchers (Williamsburg)
Summer is coming to a close, so let's bring a little bit of that sunshine into our homes this fall! Join us in making ceramic suncatchers, instructed by Ivy! Each person will design and create their own hanging suncatcher to fit into their home, which will be fired and assembled for them with a beautiful crystal prism upon pick up.
Thu October 16 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Carve & Print: Recycle (Williamsburg)
Reimagine an old garment! Learn the beginner techniques of block printing and surface design through carving and printing your own stamps! In this variation of Carve & Print instructed by Meiying, we will also discuss the cycle of a creative process, reimagining our old clothing and drawing inspiration for our prints from other workshops to translate ideas across different mediums!
Week 7
Sat October 18 @ 10:00 AM-12:30 PM -- Pen to Paper: Rhythms (Williamsburg)
Explore the power of rhythm in the written word and uncover the musicality of language. Instructed by Rachel. Through fun exercises, discussion, and play, learn to craft stories that pulse, pause, and dance on the page.
Tue October 21 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Claydate: Dry-Erase Boards (Williamsburg)
Create a place to write grocery lists, a letter for your future self, to-do’s, or even a little love note! Instructed by Aubrey. You will build and design your very own ceramic dry erase boards for you to hang in your home, office, or wherever you need reminders. Once glazed and finished, all pieces will come with a little wipe off marker so you can write and rewrite notes as often as you’d like! A little dry erase marker is included!
Thu October 23 @ 6:30 PM-9:00 PM -- Bookbinding: Signature Stitch (Williamsburg)
Are you ready to embark on a new chapter? Ever wonder how your favorite book was made? In this version of Bookmaking instructed by Ray, we’ll learn the Signature Stitch technique and create a handmade book using a variety of papers for your drawing, painting, writing, or scrapbooking needs to start you on your journey!
Week 8
Sat October 25 @ 1:30 PM-4:00 PM -- From Print to Post (Williamsburg)
Postcards and letters hold presence, time, and care. In this block printing workshop instructed by Angie, we’ll celebrate analog correspondence by carving memories into printed art, creating a handmade letter-writing kit. Bring a favorite object—like a mug, piece of jewelry, or fridge magnet—for inspiration.

A beginner-friendly knitting workshop instructed by Adriana. One stitch leads to the next with cycling loops that have the potential to make fabric. Let there be no start or end to the process once you begin your knitting love story.
