Why Conversations in Paint at Drawing Room?

  • Stories in Watercolor

In this watercolor workshop, we explore technique through personal myth and shared observation. You’ll learn all the fundamental watercolor techniques—then bring them to life by painting a meaningful personal object.

Afterward, the objects will be swapped, inviting you to reinterpret someone else’s treasure through your own hand. Each round becomes a conversation in color and form. At the end, objects are returned to their original owners—each now seen through multiple perspectives.

  • Professional instruction inspired by personal practice

This workshop is led by artist and educator Ray Hwang, and thoughtfully developed from his own painting practice and passion for community-building.

Ray believes creativity is an open door for connection, reflection, and play. Expect beginner-friendly guidance, live demos, and steady support throughout.

  • Emphasis on connection

Conversations in Paint is a chance to slow down, explore, and connect through creativity. At Drawing Room, we believe creativity is a lifelong practice of learning, noticing, and curiosity, and that it’s more meaningful when shared. Whether you come solo or with friends, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, playful space where everyone’s perspective adds to the experience.
