Drawing Room believes creative practice should be part of daily life, not a luxury reserved for only those with financial ease. This program exists to support artists, freelancers, and community members experiencing genuine financial hardship.

Support is limited and offered through an application review, at a first come, first served basis. This program is not intended for those who are able to participate at full price but would simply prefer to save money.

We ask that you apply thoughtfully. Using this support when it’s not truly needed may prevent access for someone else in our community.

FULL PRICE GUIDELINES
If three or more of the following currently apply to you, we ask that you join at the standard membership rate.

• I am able to reliably meet my basic needs including food, housing, and transportation.

• I can spend discretionary income on dining out, travel, entertainment, or fitness, even if occasionally.

• I am able to pay rent or mortgage without ongoing stress or crisis.

• I have consistent income that meets my living expenses.

• I have access to savings, family support, or other financial safety nets when needed.

• I have completed or currently attend higher education without significant ongoing financial strain.

CREATIVE ACCESS GUIDELINES
If three or more of the following are true, we encourage you to apply for support.

• Paying full price would create genuine financial hardship.

• I often avoid social or cultural activities due to financial constraints.

• I sometimes struggle to meet basic needs.

• I am carrying debt in order to cover living expenses.

• I qualify for or receive government assistance.

• I do not have access to financial support from family, partners, or investments.

• I live with a disability or chronic condition that impacts my financial stability.

Current monthly membership rates can be found here. Supported memberships are offered at a 50% reduced rate for any membership type, based on availability. The minimum commitment period and renewals still apply, after which following renewals are optional. If you choose not to renew, your spot will be opened up for others who have applied and are on the waitlist.
