Terms & Conditions
Please read the House Rules below to make sure all parties understand the requirements of providing for everyone’s safety and keeping Drawing Room maintained.
Terms and conditions:
Booking refunds/reschedules: All bookings are NOT confirmed nor reserved until full payment is received. Bookings are non-refundable nor can be rescheduled within 20 days of the event date/time. No exceptions. Exceeding your original headcount number will forfeit your security deposit.
Standard Drawing Room hosting to be provided. Host will know how to operate the space and answer questions.
Door code: It is your responsibility to ensure that all your event attendees have the door code to enter the building (1223, on the small keypad). Instructions for opening the door can be found here. You are welcome and encouraged to provide a link to this page on your ticketing or invite collateral. The e recommend placing this information on multiple places as it is often missed!
Signage on the front door or lobby is permitted, but it MUST NOT contain the private door code. Posting the private code will result in a $500 fine. All signage must only be posted DURING your agreed rental time; it must be removed prior to leaving the premises. Drawing Room is located in a mixed-use building, shared with residents, and we want our neighbors to feel safe and secure.
Sock and Slipper policy: Visitors and staff are required to wear socks or slippers inside the space. Shoes are to be removed at the front entrance area, else shoe covers must be utilized. We have socks for sale for $1 if you forget. Shoe covers will be discarded after use.
Deposit/Rental Fees: A signed contract and completed payment must be received to reserve your date(s) and time(s). The event invoice is nonrefundable unless Drawing Room is forced to cancel. No terms are implied or granted and no work will be allowed to commence until full payment is received. Security deposit will be returned following the event, barring damages or incidents.
Cleaning, Trash, and Equipment Removal: Drawing Room will be in a clean condition prior to your event. You will need to incorporate set-up time and clean up time as a part of the rental agreement (this does not apply if you are booking a workshop. Cleaning workshop and catering materials is included). Otherwise, you are required to return the space to the same condition in which it was found; this means all spaces are cleared of any personal belongings, trash is disposed of in garbage cans, any and all boxes meant for disposal should be dismantled, flattened, and taped together, furniture is returned to all original placements, any utensils, drinkware, tableware used during the stay is cleaned and dried on the drying rack. Leaving of any beverages is not allowed. Fridge must be cleared of any belongings before leaving. Cleaning included in your rental fee includes trash removal, vacuuming, and wiping down the tables. Any additional equipment brought in must be removed at the end of your rental term.
Outside food and drinks: Outside food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) are permitted. Glass cups, ceramic mugs, and non-disposable utensils are not permitted for use for outside food or drinks as there is limited space for washing dishes. We ask that you bring your own disposable utensils, cups, and plates/bowls. If you cannot bring your own disposable tableware for whatever reason, we can provide it for an additional $50 fee. If you are consuming red wine or any other colored liquids that can stain furniture/fabrics, it must remain in the can while consuming OR if pouring into cups, you are required to provide and use lidded cups. This must be communicated and cups approved in advance. Thanks for your cooperation. Any significant beverage spills and stains that occur will forfeit your security deposit.
Kitchen, fridge, freezer, and microwave usage: Customer is not permitted to access or use kitchen fridge, freezer, or microwave. No food, drinks, or other items may be stored in kitchen, fridge, freezer, or microwave.
Storage: There is no storage of personal items in the Space except for during the event in front of reception in cubbies, shoe shelves, and coat rack for shoes, coats, and bags or other personal items.
Responsibility for damages: Please be respectful of our space and the contents within it. We take great care to source everything that is a part of the space and want it to be in great condition for everyone to enjoy. If you do break something please bring it to the attention of the host. Significant damage will incur fees. Damages discovered after the event that were not brought to the attention of staff at the time of occurrence will forfeit your security deposit. Any and all damages, excessive cleaning, claims, liabilities or judgments, attorney fees, which may arise as a result of the Customer’s guests accident or wrongdoing shall be the sole responsibility of the Customer.
Smoke-Free Facility: Drawing Room is a smoke-free facility. Although the building is equipped with fire sprinklers, the Space is located in a potentially flammable building. Drawing Room also has highly flammable art supplies. Original artwork can be damaged by smoke and the resulting damage would be very costly to replace or repair. No smoking in any restroom. If smoking materials are discarded in planters, sidewalks or grounds, an extra cleanup charge will be imposed. Any guests violating the smoking restrictions will be asked to leave the premises by the event staff.
Art Library: The art library and all the contents within it are not included in this rental agreement. Any unauthorized use of these materials will result in a $500 fine. Materials are not available for rental by staff or any attendees, due to the nature of the intended setup.
Glitter and other decor/celebratory materials: Any and all decor or materials will be disclosed to and approved by the Drawing Room staff in writing, in advance of the occupation of the space. Absolutley no glitter or confetti will be permitted and bringing this or similar materials onto Drawing Room premises will result in a $500 fine. No taping on the walls will be permitted unless approved by staff in advance (must be paint-friendly tape).
Windows: Heaters cannot be controlled and therefore if you find you need to open a window, you must get the assistance of the host to do so.
Promotions and Copyright: It is important to us that you have a fantastic and successful event. We reserve the right to take pictures of your event and use them for our marketing and promotional purposes.
Liability: Renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold Drawing Room, its landlord, building owners, officers, employees, and agents harmless of and from any liabilities, costs, penalties, or expenses arising out of and/or resulting from the rental and use of the premises.
Conduct: There is absolutely no drug use or smoking of any kind tolerated on premises or within 25 feet of the building. Disparaging remarks or any type of physical violence will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate expulsion. Customer and guests shall use the premises in a considerate manner at all times.
